Training
Whether you are looking for ground manners for your weanling, a solid start for your young colt, or softening for your older horse, Shannon can help establish a foundation built on softness and trust which will help you and your horse enjoy many miles together.
If you enjoy trail riding, showing, or just own horses as a hobby, Shannon will offer new ways to look at familiar situations, such as trailer loading, ground driving, colt starting, approaching obstacles, or just plain pleasure riding. She works with each horse, no matter the breed or discipline, with the same patience, consistency and understanding. She uses the least amount of cues and external tools as possible, and feels that the best tools we have to use in our horsemanship come from within ourselves. If your horse is having trouble understanding something, Shannon will find another way to explain until she helps them understand.

“My main goal while working with a horse in training is not only that the horse understands, but to teach the owner how to develop a relationship that is based on softness and feel rather than relying solely on mechanics and technique. If the rider can develop softness in themselves, they can then offer that to their horse. It is imperative that the inside of both the horse and human understand what we are teaching, and that, I believe, is how we get to softness.” ~Shannon
