Training

When not on the road, Shannon does take in horses for training. She believes in establishing a solid foundation in the horse, regardless of the discipline or job, as it is the way they will go for the rest of their lives. Shannon encourages owners to participate in the training process, as they are an integral part of the process. This is not just about educating and training horses, but rather educating and connecting to ourselves as well.
Shannon can provide a quiet, consistent approach to ground work, trailer loading, colt starting, re-educating or working with troubled horses. She works with each horse, no matter the breed or discipline, with the same patience, consistency and understanding and believes that training takes the time it takes. She uses the least amount of cues and external tools as possible, and feels that the best tools we have to use in our horsemanship come from within ourselves. If your horse is having trouble understanding something, Shannon will find another way to explain until she helps them understand. Her goal is to produce not only a quiet minded horse who understands the job at hand, but also a willing partner who looks forward to and enjoys doing that job.
