Zuni is a QH gelding who has been used for ranch work, trail riding and as a clinic horse. He began headshaking all day every day. In this picture he is shown headshaking. His front legs are behind his shoulder and he is not weighting his hind equally. Back is hollowed. Left hind camped back, stifles seem tight. Quite a bit of distress in his eyes. |
He is more balanced front to back with more equal weight distribution. His headshaking stopped and face relaxed. His front legs have come under his shoulder vs behind and he is now weighting his hind end. Back has softened and relaxed and he was able to lower his head. |

Fiona is a yearling paint filly believed to have had a pull back. She is very tight at the base of her neck and has very little lateral movement of her head. Stands camped under with her front and hind most of the time. She has very little presence in her face, but has a tight distressed eye. |
She can now lower her head and neck and relax. She is softer all over. Beginning to balance from front to back and relax her top line, not so extremely camped and rigid. Fiona is now acting more like a yearling...and her owner is happy to see that! |

Sedona was used as a Hunter Jumper and is now in a home where she does some light dressage and trail riding. She is rigid. Neck fixed up and tight at base. Front legs behind shoulder, hind end fixed back. Her stifles and hocks are straight. Lower back is tight and flat, has a steep drop off in croup area, appears underdeveloped in hind. Croup high. |
This mare began breathing and relaxed. Her interaction became very dramatic, lowering her head and yawning for several minutes after session. She is weighting her hind end and bending her stifles and hocks. She is also more balanced on front end and base of her neck has softened. She is more balanced front to back and no longer has a flat affect in her face. |

Boo is a 7 year old Appendix mare. She is used for trail riding and as a clinic horse. She has had a few pull backs and a lower back injury. Head is not relaxed and moving freely, she is very limited in atlas/axis. Her neck is tight and very flat. She is on forehand with front feet behind her shoulder and not weighting her hind end equally. Left hind is camped back with straight hock and stifle. Lower back is tight and she is not breathing well. |
1 hour after treatment, this is how she was standing. More balanced front to back, her neck and back now look balanced rather than appearing stretched and flat. Front legs under shoulders and weighting her hind end, sacrum and pelvis no longer flat. Her whole topline softened and she was relaxed and breathing with a soft/present expression. |

Megan is a 21 year old mare who has been used as a trail/ranch horse. Within the last 2 years she has started developing symptoms of cushings and aging/greying quickly. She often flops ears and lacks expression in face. Is very on forehand, hind end also camped under. Rib cage is very tight and guarded. Her whole topline appears flat. Fixed open head angle with appearance of headache, very flat affect to goings on around her. |
Megan's front legs are coming more balanced under her shoulders. No more "camped appearance. Look at that presence in her face. Her ears and eyes came alive and she looked all over with presence in her face. She no longer appears to have a "lead blanket" on her whithers and back...topline has softened and no longer looks flat. Belly relaxed, not so bloated and breathing better. |

Sandy is an 8 year old mare who had a bad accident, and is the horse who brought Shannon to CranioSacral work. She had a pull back with a flip over and landed on her own head and neck. She looks miserable. On forehand with splayed feet, lacking presence in her face, eyes, ears. Whole hind end has the appearance that it is not being used, it looks to be disappearing compared to her front end which seems to be carrying the load. Hind end camped under. She also has strange sweat patterns. Neck rigid and tight. Masseter also feels tight. |
Sandy spent a lot of time yawning and processing during and after the treatment. The biggest thing I noticed with her was the change in her presence. She was able to raise her head and neck and look around. She is no longer standing with front feet splayed and her whithers and croup look more balanced front to back. She is a work in progress and right now we are just seeking comfort for her. She is responding more like a normal horse after 4 treatments. |
